Section 393 (Front Power Seat Control System): Inspection

  1. INSPECT SEAT MEMORY SWITCH (w/ MEMORY) 
    1. Inspect the switch continuity.

    Standard: 

    SEAT MEMORY SWITCH TERMINALS CONTINUITY (W/ MEMORY)

    Terminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition
    1 <=> 2 SET Switch ON Continuity
    2 <=> 3 SW1 Switch ON Continuity
    2 <=> 4 SW2 Switch ON Continuity

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

  2. INSPECT FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH (w/o MEMORY) 
    1. Inspect the continuity between the terminals when each switch is operated.

    Standard (Slide switch): 

    FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH TERMINALS CONTINUITY - (SLIDE SWITCH) (W/O MEMORY)

    Terminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition
    1 <=> 9 FRONT Continuity
    4 <=> 6
    4 <=> 6 <=> 9 OFF Continuity
    1 <=> 6 REAR Continuity
    4 <=> 9

    Standard (Front vertical switch): 

    FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH TERMINALS CONTINUITY - (FRONT VERTICAL SWITCH) (W/O MEMORY)

    Terminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition
    1 <=> 10 UP Continuity
    4 <=> 5
    4 <=> 5 <=> 10 OFF Continuity
    1 <=> 5 DOWN Continuity
    4 <=> 10

    Standard (Lifter switch): 

    FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH TERMINALS CONTINUITY - (LIFTER SWITCH) (W/O MEMORY)

    Terminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition
    1 <=> 7 UP Continuity
    4 <=> 8
    4 <=> 7 <=> 8 OFF Continuity
    1 <=> 8 DOWN Continuity
    4 <=> 7

    Standard (Reclining switch): 

    FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH TERMINALS CONTINUITY - (RECLINING SWITCH) (W/O MEMORY)

    Terminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition
    1 <=> 3 FRONT Continuity
    2 <=> 4
    2 <=> 3 <=> 4 OFF Continuity
    1 <=> 2 REAR Continuity
    3 <=> 4

    If the result is not as specified, replace the front power seat switch.

  3. INSPECT FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH 
    1. Inspect the continuity between the terminals when each switch is operated.

    Standard (Slide switch): 

    FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH TERMINALS CONTINUITY (SLIDE SWITCH)

    Terminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition
    1 <=> 9 FRONT Continuity
    4 <=> 6
    6 <=> 4 <=> 9 OFF Continuity
    4 <=> 9 REAR Continuity
    1 <=> 6

    Standard (Reclining switch): 

    FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH TERMINALS CONTINUITY (RECLINING SWITCH)

    Terminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition
    1 <=> 3 FRONT Continuity
    2 <=> 4
    2 <=> 4 <=> 3 OFF Continuity
    1 <=> 2 REAR Continuity
    3 <=> 4

    If the result is not as specified, replace the front power seat switch.

  4. INSPECT POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSY (LUMBAR SUPPORT) 
    1. Inspect the continuity between the terminals when the switch is operated.

    Standard: 

    POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSY TERMINALS CONTINUITY (LUMBAR SUPPORT)

    Terminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition
    1 <=> 2 HOLD Continuity
    3 <=> 4
    3 <=> 2 <=> 4 OFF Continuity
    1 <=> 3 RELEASE Continuity
    4 <=> 5

    If the result is not as specified, replace the power seat switch assy.

  5. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSY 
    1. Inspect operation of the slide motor.
      1. Check that the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

      Standard: 

      SLIDE MOTOR TESTER CONDITION AND OPERATIONAL DIRECTION

      Tester Condition Operational Direction
      Battery positive voltage --> 1 Battery negative voltage --> 2 Clockwise
      Battery positive voltage --> 2 Battery negative voltage --> 1 Counterclockwise

      If the result is not as specified, replace the slide motor.

    2. LH side:

      Inspect operation of the front vertical motor.

      1. Check that the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the front vertical motor connector terminals.

      Standard: 

      FRONT VERTICAL MOTOR TESTER CONDITION AND OPERATIONAL DIRECTION

      Tester Condition Operational Direction
      Battery positive voltage --> 1 Battery negative voltage --> 2 Clockwise
      Battery positive voltage --> 2 Battery negative voltage --> 1 Counterclockwise

      If the result is not as specified, replace the front vertical motor.

    3. LH side:

      Inspect operation of the lifter motor.

      1. Check that the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the lifter motor connector terminals.

        Standard: 

        LIFTER MOTOR TESTER CONDITION AND OPERATIONAL DIRECTION

        Tester Condition Operational Direction
        Battery positive voltage --> 1 Battery negative voltage --> 2 Clockwise
        Battery positive voltage --> 2 Battery negative voltage --> 1 Counterclockwise

        If the result is not as specified, replace the lifter motor.

    4. Inspect operation of the reclining motor.
      1. Check that the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the reclining motor connector terminals.

      Standard: 

      RECLINING MOTOR TESTER CONDITION AND OPERATIONAL DIRECTION

      Tester Condition Operational Direction
      Battery positive voltage --> 1 Battery negative voltage --> 2 Clockwise
      Battery positive voltage --> 2 Battery negative voltage --> 1 Counterclockwise

      If the result is not as specified, replace the reclining motor.

  6. LH side: INSPECT LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSY 
    1. Inspect operation of the motor.

    Standard: 

    LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER MOTOR TESTER CONDITION AND OPERATIONAL DIRECTION

    Tester Condition Operational Direction
    Battery positive voltage --> 1 Battery negative voltage --> 2 Clockwise
    Battery positive voltage --> 2 Battery negative voltage --> 1 Counterclockwise

    If the result is not as specified, replace the lumbar support adjuster motor.
