Yaw Rate Sensor Zero Point Calibration
NOTE:
If the yaw rate sensor, deceleration sensor or the ECU have been replaced, be sure to perform yaw rate and deceleration sensor zero point calibration. Perform the yaw rate calibration first and then be sure to continue on to the deceleration sensor.
NOTE:
While obtaining the zero point, keep the vehicle in stationary condition and do not tilt, move or shake the vehicle. Be sure to perform this on a level surface.
- Shift the lever to "P" and turn ignition on.
- Using Special Tool (09843-18040), repeat a cycle of short and open between terminals Ts and CG of DLC3 four times or more within 8 seconds. See Figure. Check that the TRAC OFF and VSC indicator light is lit indicating the recorded zero point is erased.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF within 15 seconds. Disconnect terminals Ts and CG of DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON. Check that the lit TRAC OFF and VSC indicator light turns off after about 15 seconds.
- Ensure that the TRAC OFF and VSC indicator light remains OFF for 2 seconds. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Even if the ignition is not turned OFF, the yaw rate sensor zero point calibration can be completed. In this case, the TRAC OFF and VSC indicator light will light for about 15 seconds and then start blinking (normal code). Make sure that the indicator light blinks for 2 seconds and then turn off the ignition switch.
- Perform deceleration sensor zero point calibration. If the vehicle is driven without this calibration, deceleration sensor zero point calibration malfunction will be detected and the TRAC OFF and VSC warning lights will light up. See DECELERATION SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION .
