Hand-held tester:
- Connect hand-held tester, and check operation of VSV for ACIS.
PREPARATION:
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
- Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the hand-held tester.
CHECK:
Check the operation of the VSV when the VSV is operated by the hand-held tester.
OK:
VSV is ON: Air from port E flows out through port F.
VSV is OFF: Air from port E flow out through air filter.
- OK: Check for vacuum tank (See INSPECTION ).
- NG: Go to next step.
- Check VSV for ACIS (See INSPECTION
).
- NG: Replace VSV for ACIS
- OK: Go to next step.
- Check for open and short in harness and connector between EFI main relay (Marking: EFI) and ECM (See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE
).
- NG: Repair or replace harness or connector.
- OK: Go to next step.
- Check vacuum hose.
CHECK:
- Check that the vacuum hoses are connected correctly.
- Check that the vacuum hoses are not loose or disconnected.
- Check the vacuum hoses for cracks, holes or damage.
- NG: Repair or replace vacuum hose.
- OK: Go to next step.
- Check intake air control valve (See ACOUSTIC CONTROL INDUCTION SYSTEM (ACIS)
).
- NG: Replace intake air control system.
- OK: Replace ECM (See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE .)
