Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor: Inspection

  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 
  2. REMOVE ECT SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.
    2. Using SST, remove the ECT sensor and gasket.
      1. SST 09205-76030

  3. INSPECT ECT SENSOR 

    Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

    1. Resistance: Refer to the graph 

    If the resistance is not as specified, replace the ECT sensor.

  4. REINSTALL ECT SENSOR 
    1. Install a new gasket to the ECT sensor.
    2. Using SST, install the ECT sensor.
      1. SST 09205-76030
      2. Torque: 19.6 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf) 
    3. Connect the ECT sensor connector.

  5. REFILL WITH ENGINE COOLANT
