Fuel Delivery: SFI: Injector: Removal

  1. REMOVE ENGINE COVER 

    Remove the 4 nuts and engine cover.

  2. REMOVE AIR INTAKE CHAMBER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE DELIVERY PIPE AND INJECTORS 
    NOTE:
    • Be careful not to drop the injectors when removing the delivery pipe. 
    • Pay attention to put any hung load on the injector to and from the side direction. 
    1. Disconnect the 6 injector connectors.
    2. Disconnect the 6 camshaft position sensor connector.
    3. Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
    4. Disconnect the VSV connector for EVAP.
    5. Remove the 3 bolts and delivery pipe together with the 6 injectors.

    6. Pull out the 6 injectors from the delivery pipe.
    7. Remove the 2 O-rings, grommet and insulator from each injector.
    8. Remove the 3 spacers from the intake manifold.
