System Operation Check

  1. Trouble shooting of a remote keyless entry system complaint begins with verification of the customer problem. Perform the Customer Problem Analysis Check (Remote Keyless Entry System). See Fig 1.
  2. Inspect the communication function of the large-scale body multiplex communication system (BEAN). Check that there is no abnormality in the communication system by inspecting with a hand-held tester:
    • (ECU unconnected, communication line abnormal) Without code outputs, go to step  3.
    • (ECU unconnected, communication line abnormal) With code outputs, go to MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM article in COMMUNICATION DEVICES.
  3. Check the diagnostic trouble code. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM:
    • Without code outputs, go to step  4.
    • With code outputs, go to step  6.
  4. Refer to symptoms table. See SYMPTOM INDEX (WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM)  table:
    • Without applicable symptoms, go to step  5.
    • With applicable symptoms, go to step  6.

  5. Perform trouble shooting in the following method, depending on the malfunction symptom:
    • Pre-check. See PRE-CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Inspection with hand-held tester (ECU DATA MONITOR) and hand-held tester (ACTIVE TEST).
    • Terminal of ECU. See TERMINALS OF ECU  under COMPONENT TESTS.
    • On-vehicle inspection. See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .
  6. Perform necessary adjustments, repairs or replacements.
