Outer Rear View Mirror: Replacement

HINT:

• The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
• Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
• The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
• A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SUSPENSION CONTROL SYSTEM ).

1. REMOVE DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL NO.2 LH (see  OVERHAUL  ) 
2. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST BASE PANEL UPPER LH (see  OVERHAUL  ) 
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSY LH (see  OVERHAUL  ) 
4. REMOVE DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH (see  OVERHAUL  ) 
5. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY 
   1. Disconnect the connector.
   2. Remove the 3 bolts and mirror.

6. REMOVE OUTER MIRROR COVER 
   1. Insert the shop rag between the mirror and mirror body. Wrap the mirror in the shop rag.
   2. Pull up the lower side of the shop rag to disconnect the mirror joint.

   3. Pull up the mirror and disconnect it.

   4. Using a small screwdriver, disconnect the connector.

   5. Remove the 4 screws and mirror cover.

   6. Remove the mirror lamp.

   7. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the back mirror cover.

7. INSTALL OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY 
   1. Install the mirror with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
