Inspection Procedure
- CHECK FOR DTCS
- Operate the passenger door power window. Check if any DTCs are output.
Result:
B: PROCEED TO DTC CHART (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )
A: Go to next step.
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING HAND-HELD TESTER
- Connect the hand-held tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON and press the hand-held tester main switch ON.
- Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST and then check that the power window operates.
Passenger door ECU:
OK: "ON"(power window is operating) appears on the screen.
NOTE: This test causes vehicle parts to move. Please watch your hands.NG: Go to step 3
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY FRONT RH -PASSENGER DOOR ECU)
- Disconnect the P15 motor connector.
- Disconnect the F17 ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY
- Remove the motor (see OVERHAUL ).
- Apply battery voltage to the motor connector according to the figure Fig 5 below.
- Check that the motor rotates smoothly.
NOTE: Do not apply battery voltage to any terminals except terminals 4 and 5.OK: Go to next step.
NG: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
