Bench Testing: Diodes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Lexus SC 430 and 2003 Lexus SC 430. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. With diode/rectifier holder removed and on bench, contact positive diode plate terminal with one ohmmeter probe. Using other ohmmeter probe, contact each diode lead in same plate. Note ohmmeter reading. Reverse ohmmeter probes, and repeat tests for all diodes.
  2. All diodes should show continuity in one direction and no continuity in opposite direction. If any diode is defective, replace diode/rectifier holder.
