Section 326 (Interior Light System): Inspection

  1. INSPECT FRONT PERSONAL LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY 
    SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    OFF - No continuity
    ON 1-2 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the light assembly or the bulb.

  2. INSPECT FRONT PERSONAL LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT 

    Disconnect the connector from the switch and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    2-Ground Always Continuity
    1 - Ground Always Battery positive voltage

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.

  3. INSPECT REAR PERSONAL LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY 
    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    OFF - No continuity
    ON 1 - 4 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the light assembly or the bulb.

  4. INSPECT REAR PERSONAL LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT 

    Disconnect the connector from the switch and inspect the connector on the wire harness side.

    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    1 -Ground Always Continuity
    4 - Ground Always Battery positive voltage

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.

  5. INSPECT ROOM LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY 
    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    Room Light Switch OFF - No continuity
    Room Light Switch DOOR 3-4 Continuity
    Room Light Switch ON 1 - 4 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the light assembly or the bulb.

  6. INSPECT ROOM LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT 

    Disconnect the connector from the switch and inspect the connector on the wire harness side.

    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    1-Ground Always Continuity
    4-Ground Always Battery positive voltage

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or the wire harness.

  7. INSPECT REAR ROOM LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the room light assembly.
    2. Turn the room light switch ON, and check that continuity exists between terminal 2 and body ground.

    3. Turn the room light switch DOOR, and check that continuity exists between terminal 1 and 2.

    If operation is not as specified, replace the light assembly or the bulb.

  8. INSPECT REAR ROOM LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT 

    Disconnect the connector from the switch and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    1 - Ground Always Battery positive voltage

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or the wire harness.

  9. INSPECT VANITY LIGHT CONTINUITY 
    SWITCH POSITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    OFF (closed) - No continuity
    ON (opened) 1 - 2 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the vanity light assembly or the bulb.

  10. INSPECT VANITY LIGHT CIRCUIT 

    Disconnect the connector from the light and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    1 - Ground Always Continuity
    2-Ground Always Battery positive voltage

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or the wire harness.

  11. INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH CONTINUITY 
    1. Check that continuity exists between terminal and the switch body with the switch ON (switch pin released).
    2. Check that no continuity exists between terminals and the switch body with the switch OFF (switch pin pushed).

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  12. INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH CIRCUIT 

    Disconnect the connector from the switch and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    1 - Ground Always Battery positive voltage

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or the wire harness.

  13. INSPECT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT CONTINUITY 

    Using an ohmmeter, check that continuity exists between terminals.

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the light assembly or the bulb.

  15. INSPECT BACK DOOR COURTESY SWITCH CONTINUITY 
    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    OFF (closed) - No continuity
    ON (opened) 1 - 2 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the back door lock assembly.

  16. INSPECT BACK DOOR COURTESY SWITCH CIRCUIT 

    Disconnect the connector from the switch and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    2 - Ground Always Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or the wire harness.

  17. INSPECT GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH CONTINUITY 
    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    OFF (closed) - No continuity
    ON (opened) 1 - 2 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  18. INSPECT LICENCE PLATE LIGHT CONTINUITY 

    Using an ohmmeter, check that continuity exists between terminals.

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the light assembly or the bulb.

  19. INSPECT FOOT LIGHT CIRCUIT 

    Disconnect the connector from the switch and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Condition Tester connection Specified condition
    Ignition switch ON and door open 1 - Ground Battery positive voltage
    Always 2 - Ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or the wire harness.

  20. INSPECT INSIDE DOOR HANDLE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT 

    Disconnect the connector from the switch and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Condition Tester connection Specified condition
    Ignition switch ON and door open 1 - Ground Battery positive voltage
    Always 2 - Ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or the wire harness.

  21. INSPECT SIDE STEP LIGHT CIRCUIT 

    Disconnect the connector from the switch and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Condition Tester connection Specified condition
    Ignition switch ON and door open 1 - Ground Battery positive voltage
    Always 2 - Ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or the wire harness.

  22. INSPECT OUTER FOOT LIGHT CIRCUIT 

    Disconnect the connector from the switch and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Condition Tester connection Specified condition
    Ignition switch ON and door open 1 - Ground Battery positive voltage
    Always 2 - Ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or the wire harness.

  23. INSPECT CENTER CONSOLE SPOT LIGHT CIRCUIT 

    Disconnect the connector from the switch and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    SPECIFICATION CONDITION

    Condition Tester connection Specified condition
    Ignition switch ON and door open 1 - Ground Battery positive voltage
    Always 2 - Ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or the wire harness.
