Heated Oxygen Sensor: Inspection

  1. INSPECT HEATER RESISTANCE OF HEATED OXYGEN SENSORS
    1. Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector.
    2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminal +B and HT.

      1. Resistance: 11 - 16 Ω at 20°C (68°F)

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.

      1. Torque:
      2. 44 N.m (450 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) for sensor 1
      3. 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf) for sensor 2
    3. Reconnect the oxygen sensor connector.
  2. INSPECT OPERATION OF HEATED OXYGEN SENSORS (See  DTC P0130, P0150, P2195, P2196, P2167, P2198: OXYGEN SENSOR CIRCUIT  and  DTC P0136: OXYGEN SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION (BANK 1 SENSOR 2) DTC P0156: OXYGEN SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION (BANK 2 SENSOR 2)  )
