Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK AUTO UP/DOWN FUNCTION (REAR RH) 
    1. Check that the power window AUTO UP/DOWN function operates normally.
    1. NG: Go to step 2 
    2. OK: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY REAR 
  2. INSPECT FUSE (RR DOOR RH) 
    1. Remove the RR DOOR RH fuse from the instrument panel J/B.
    2. Check the resistance.

      Standard: Below 1 Ω 

    1. NG: REPLACE FUSE 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FOR POWER SOURCE OF REAR RH POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the P21 regulator switch connector.

    3. Check the voltage between terminal of the wire harness side connector and the body ground.

      Standard: 

      VOLTAGE BETWEEN REGULATOR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS AND BODY GROUND

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      P21-12 (BDR) - Body ground 10 to 14 V
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FOR GROUND OF REAR RH POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the P21 regulator switch connector.

    3. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connector and body ground.

      Standard: 

      RESISTANCE BETWEEN REGULATOR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS AND BODY GROUND

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      P21-7 (GND) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FOR WINDOW LOCK SWITCH OF REAR RH POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY) 
    1. Remove the regulator switch (the connector is connected).
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.

    4. Check the voltage between the terminals.

      Standard: 

      REGULATOR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS VOLTAGE

      Window Lock Switch Condition Tester Connection Specified Condition
      ON (Normal) P21-11 (PCT1) - P21-7 (GND) 10 to 14 V
      OFF (Lock) P21-11 (PCT1) - P21-7 (GND) Below 1 V
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY - POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the P21 power window switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the P26 power window motor connector.

    4. Check the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      RESISTANCE BETWEEN POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH AND POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR CONNECTOR TERMINALS

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      P21-1 (DN) - P26-2 (D) Below 1 Ω
      P21-6 (UP) - P26-1 (U)
      P21-1 (DN) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      P21-6 (UP) - Body ground
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  7. CHECK POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY (REAR RH) 
    1. Remove the regulator switch (the connector is connected).
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.

    4. Check the voltage between terminals.

      Standard: 

      VOLTAGE BETWEEN REGULATOR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS

      Switch Condition Tester Connection Specified Condition
      UP P21-6 (UP) - P21-7 (GND) 10 to 14 V
      DOWN P21-1 (DN) - P21-7 (GND)
    1. NG: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY REAR 
    2. OK: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY RH (REAR RH) 

    Reference:

    Check operation of the power window motor (rear RH).

    1. Remove the motor (See OVERHAUL ).
    2. Apply battery voltage to terminals 1 and 2.
    3. Check that the motor rotates smoothly.

      NOTE: Do not apply battery voltage to any terminal except 1 and 2.

      Standard: 

      POWER WINDOW MOTOR'S MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) --> 1
      Battery negative (-) --> 2
      Motor gear rotates counterclockwise
      Battery positive (+) --> 2
      Battery negative (-) --> 1
      Motor gear rotates clockwise
