Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK AUTO UP/DOWN FUNCTION (PASSENGER SIDE) 
    1. Check that the power window AUTO UP/DOWN function operates normally.
    1. NG: Go to step 2 
    2. OK: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY (PASSENGER SIDE) 
  2. INSPECT FUSE (PWR) 
    1. Remove the PWR M-fuse from the instrument panel J/B.
    2. Check the resistance.

      Standard: Below 1 Ω 

    1. NG: REPLACE FUSE 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FOR POWER SOURCE OF PASSENGER SIDE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the P19 regulator switch connector.

    3. Check the voltage between the wire harness side connector and the body ground.

      Standard: 

      VOLTAGE BETWEEN REGULATOR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS AND BODY GROUND

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      P19-12 (BDR) - Body ground 10 to 14 V
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FOR GROUND OF PASSENGER SIDE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the P19 regulator switch connector.

    3. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connector and body ground.

      Standard: 

      RESISTANCE BETWEEN REGULATOR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS AND BODY GROUND

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      P19-7 (GND) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FOR WINDOW LOCK SWITCH OF PASSENGER SIDE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY) 
    1. Remove the regulator switch (the connector is connected).
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.

    4. Check the voltage between the terminals.

      Standard: 

      VOLTAGE BETWEEN REGULATOR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS AND BODY GROUND

      Window Lock Switch Condition Tester Connection Specified Condition
      ON (Normal) P19-11 (PCT) - P19-7 (GND) 10 to 14 V
      OFF (Lock) P19-11 (PCT) - P19-7 (GND) Below 1 V
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY - POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the P19 regulator switch connector.

    3. Disconnect the P24 power window motor connector.
    4. Check the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      RESISTANCE BETWEEN REGULATOR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS AND BODY GROUND

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      P19-1 (DN) - P24-1 (D) Below 1 Ω
      P19-6 (UP) - P24-2 (U)
      P19-1 (DN) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      P19-6 (UP) - Body ground
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  7. CHECK POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY (PASSENGER SIDE) 
    1. Remove the regulator switch (the connector is connected).
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.

    4. Check the voltage between the terminals.

      Standard: 

      VOLTAGE BETWEEN REGULATOR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS AND BODY GROUND

      Switch Condition Tester Connection Specified Condition
      UP P19-6 (UP) - P19-7 (GND) 10 to 14 V
      DOWN P19-1 (DN) - P19-7 (GND)
    1. NG: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSY RH (PASSENGER SIDE) 

    Reference:

    Check operation of the power window motor (passenger side).

    1. Remove the motor (See OVERHAUL ).
    2. Apply battery voltage to terminals 1 and 2.
    3. Check that the motor rotates smoothly.

      NOTE: Do not apply battery voltage to any terminal except 1 and 2.

      Standard: 

      POWER WINDOW MOTOR MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) --> 1
      Battery negative (-) --> 2
      Motor gear rotates clockwise
      Battery positive (+) --> 2
      Battery negative (-) --> 1
      Motor gear rotates counterclockwise
