Operation Check

- ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
- Illuminated entry system controls the following lamps:
- Key cylinder lamp
- Scuff plate illumination
- Room lamp assy No.1 and room lamp assy No.2
- Check that the lamps come on when unlocking any of the doors that are closed and locked with the ignition switch off. Then check that the lamps fade out under the following conditions:
- Leave the doors unlocked for 15 seconds.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ACC or ON position.
- Lock all the doors.
- Check that the lamps stay ON for at least 15 seconds after opening any of the doors before fading out as shown in (b). Then check that the lamps fade out 15 seconds after closing all the doors.
- Check that the lamps stay lit after turning the ignition switch off with all the doors closed and the ignition switch in the ACC or ON position. Then check that the lamps fade out under the following conditions:
- Leave the doors unlocked for 15 seconds.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ACC or ON position.
- Lock all the doors.
- Check that the lamps stay ON for at least 15 seconds after opening any of the doors before going (before about 15 seconds pass) under the conditions as shown in (d). Then check that the lamps fade out 15 seconds after closing all the doors.
- Check that the lamps come on when opening any of the doors and fade out when closing and locking all the doors or turning the ignition switch to the ACC or ON position.
- Illuminated entry system controls the following lamps:
- OVERHEAD CONSOLE ILLUMINATION OPERATION CHECK
- Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position, and check that the center console spot illumination in the overhead console comes on.
- Turn the ignition switch off, and check that the center console spot illumination in the overhead console goes off immediately.
- STEP LIGHT AND INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION OPERATION CHECK
- Check that the lamps come on when unlocking any of the doors that are closed and locked with the ignition switch off. Then check that the lamps fade out under the following conditions:
- Leave the doors unlocked for 15 seconds.
- Lock all the closed doors and turn the ignition switch off.
- Check that the lamps stay ON for at least 15 seconds under the following conditions before going off under the conditions as shown in (a).
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and adjust the shift lever to the P position.
- Open any of the doors.
- Check that the lamps dim before going off when turning the ignition switch ON and shifting into any position other than P under the conditions as shown in (a).
- Check the conditions below before the lamps go off under the conditions as shown in (b).
- The lamps dim when shifting into a position other than P and closing all the doors with the ignition switch ON.
- The lamps come on for 15 seconds and fade out when shifting into the P position and closing all the doors with the ignition switch off.
- Check that the lamps come on after opening any of the doors.
- Check that the lamps fade out in 15 seconds after closing all the doors, or locking all the doors.
- Check that the lamps come on gradually with the ignition switch ON and the shift lever in the P position.
- Check that the lamps dim when shifting from P into other position with all the doors closed.
- Check that the lamps stay dimmed with the ignition switch ON and the shift lever in a position other than P.
- Check that the lamps come on when unlocking any of the doors that are closed and locked with the ignition switch off. Then check that the lamps fade out under the following conditions:
- BATTERY SAVER OPERATION CHECK
- Remove the ignition key and close all the doors.
- Open any door to turn the room light on, and leave it open. Check that the light goes off after about 20 minutes.
- After the room light goes off, close the driver's door.
- Open any door to turn the room light on, and then open another door. Check that the room light goes off within 20 minutes after opening the doors.
- Close all the doors. With the ignition key inserted, open any door to turn the room light on, and then remove the ignition key. Check that the room light goes off within 20 minutes.
- LIGHT AUTO TURN OFF OPERATION CHECK
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and switch the headlights into the TAIL or HEAD position.
- Turn the ignition switch off and open the driver's door, and check that the headlights go off after about 30 seconds.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and switch the headlights to the TAIL or HEAD position.
- Turn the ignition switch off and open the driver's door. Before the headlight goes off after about 30 seconds, lock all the doors. Check that the headlights go off immediately.
- AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION CHECK
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Turn the headlamp dimmer switch to the AUTO position.
- Cover the automatic light control sensor and check that the tail lamps and headlamps come on in order.
- Uncover the automatic light control sensor and check that the headlamps and tail lamps go off in order.
- DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT OPERATION CHECK
- Check that the high beams come on when the headlamp switch is off with the engine running and the parking brake released.
- Check that the high beams go off when turning the headlamp dimmer switch into the TAIL or HEAD (LOW) position under the condition as shown in (a).
- Check that the high beams go off when turning the ignition switch off under the condition as shown in (a).
- HEADLIGHT BEAM LEVEL CONTROL OPERATION CHECK
- Check that the initialization (determination of the initial position) of the leveling motor is performed at engine-start.
- Check that the warning indicator in the combination meter assy comes on for approximately 3 seconds when the ignition switch is turned on and then goes off.
- Check that the projector moves when:
Moving the rear of the vehicle up or down while the engine is running, vehicle is stopped, and the headlamp dimmer switch is in the HEAD position.
NOTE: Make sure to change the vehicle's height slowly.
- AFS OPERATION CHECK
- Check that the initialization (determination of the initial position) of the leveling motor and swivel motor is performed at engine-start.
- Check that the warning indicator in the combination meter assy comes on for approximately 3 seconds when the ignition switch is turned on and then goes off.
- Check that the warning indicator in the combination meter assy comes on when the AFS OFF switch is pressed.
- Check that the warning indicator in the combination meter assy goes off when the AFS OFF switch is not pressed.
