Seat Belt Warning System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH 
    1. Inspect the buckle switch.
      1. Fasten the seat belt (Buckle switch is ON).
      2. Check the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard: 

        TESTER CONDITION SPECIFICATION

        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        A-3 - A-4 1 MΩ or higher
        A-4 - A-5 Below 1 Ω

        *  When the positive and negative poles between the terminals are exchanged, there is a resistance of Below 1 Ω in one way but a resistance of 1 MΩ or higher in the other way.

      3. Release the seat belt (Buckle switch is OFF).
      4. Check the resistance between the terminals.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONDITION SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    A-3 - A-4 Below 1 Ω
    A-4 - A-5 1 MΩ or higher

    *  When the positive and negative poles between the terminals are exchanged, there is a resistance of 1 MΩ or higher in either way. 

    If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assy.

  2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH 
    1. Inspect the buckle switch.
      1. Fasten the seat belt (Buckle switch is ON).
      2. Check the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard: 

        TESTER CONDITION SPECIFICATION

        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        A-4 - A-5 1 MΩ or higher

      3. Release the seat belt (Buckle switch is OFF).
      4. Check the resistance between the terminals.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONDITION SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A-4 - A-5 Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assy.

    2. Inspect the circuit for the airbag seat position sensor.
      1. Check the resistance between the terminals.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONDITION SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      1 - 2 (Connector for airbag seat position sensor) Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assy.
