Telephone Transceiver ASSY (2003 My): Replacement

HINT:

• The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
• A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS ).

1. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER ASSY (See  Figure ) 
2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT (See  Figure ) 
3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER RH (See  Figure ) 
4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH (See  Figure ) 
5. REMOVE TOOL BOX COVER (See  Figure ) 
6. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSY (See  Figure ) 
7. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSY (See  Figure ) 
8. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER INNER LOWER (See  Figure ) 
9. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE RH (See  Figure ) 
10. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE LH (See  Figure ) 
11. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT (See  Figure ) 
12. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRAY BRACKET FRONT 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and 3 bolts.
    2. Remove the 2 luggage compartment tray bracket fronts.

13. REMOVE TRANSCEIVER & BATTERY ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the connectors and clamps.
    2. Remove the 3 nuts and transceiver & battery assembly.
14. REMOVE PORTABLEPHONE-L BATTERY 
    1. Remove the nut and mobile bracket No.2.
    2. Disconnect the connector, and then remove the portable-phone-L battery.
15. REMOVE TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the connectors and clamps.
    2. Remove the 3 screws and telephone transceiver assembly from the mobile bracket No.1.
    NOTE: The telephone transceiver assembly should be replaced together with the mayday ECU assembly.

16. INSTALL TRANSCEIVER & BATTERY ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the 2 dummy connectors from the wire harness connectors of a new telephone transceiver assembly, and connect those wire harness connectors each other.
    2. Install the transceiver & battery assembly with the 3 nuts.

       Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in..lbf)

       NOTE: Make sure that the last 4 digits of serial No. of the mayday ECU assembly correspond to those of the telephone transceiver assembly.
    3. Connect the connectors and clamps.
