    5. When the outer mirror is in the driving position:

Check that switches M1, M2 and M3 cause the outer mirror to move to the recorded outer mirror positions under these conditions: turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position, remove the key from the key cylinder, open the driver side door and press M1, M2 or M3 within 30 seconds.

    6. Check that the following procedures will erase the recorded outer mirror positions of switches M1, M2 and M3: press and hold the power seat slide switch; disconnect the battery's negative terminal cable; and wait for at least 1 minute.
    7. Attempt to record a seat position by pressing and holding the SET switch and two other switches (among M1, M2 and M3). No outer mirror position should be recorded. Check this by pressing M1, M2 or M3 and making sure that the outer mirror does not move.

    HINT:

This step will only be true if step (f) was performed properly, whereby all previously recorded set positions were erased.

  2. INSPECT ELECTRICALLY-RETRACT DOOR MIRROR
    1. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position.
    2. At each position of the outer mirror body, check operation when operating the retract switch of the outer mirror.
    3. Check the outer mirror operation, as shown in the illustration.
      1. Change the retract switch from the (A) position to the (B) position.
      2. Check that the right and left mirrors move from the driving position to the retracted position.

If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

    4. Check the outer mirror operation, as shown in the illustration.
      1. Move one of the mirrors to the forward position by hand.
      2. Change the retract switch from the (A) position to the (B) position.
      3. Check that the mirror moves from the forward position to the retracted position.
      4. Check that the other mirror moves from the driving position to the retracted position.

If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

      1. When the mirror body is operating, turn the ignition switch to LOCK. Check that the mirror operation does not stop and continues until the operation has finished.
      2. Perform the above step again. This time, before the mirror operation finishes, turn the ignition switch to ACC and press the retract switch. Check that the mirror operates in the opposite direction

If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.
