Section 484 (Stop Light System): Inspection
- INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE
Switch position Tester connection Specified condition Switch pin free (Pedal depressed) 1 - 2 Continuity Switch pin pushed in (Pedal released) - No continuity Switch pin free (Pedal depressed) - No continuity Switch pin pushed in (Pedal released) 3 - 4 Continuity If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.
- INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT
Disconnect the connector from the switch and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown in Fig 2 .
SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLETester connection Condition Specified condition 2 - Ground Always Battery positive voltage If circuit is not as specified, inspect the power source or the wire harness.
- w/o REAR SPOILER: INSPECT HI-MOUNTED STOP LIGHT CONTINUITY
Using an ohmmeter, check that continuity exists between terminals.
If continuity is not as specified, replace the light assembly.
- w/o REAR SPOILER: INSPECT HI-MOUNTED STOP LIGHT CIRCUIT
Disconnect the connector from the light and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown in Fig 4 .
