Inspection Procedure

HINT:

If there is not the hand-held tester, begin with STEP  2.

  1. Check power seat control switch operation. 

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON and hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the hand-held tester.

    CHECK: 

    Check that switch status (ON/OFF) changes on the screen of hand-held tester as the power seat control switch of the vehicle is turned.

    OK: 

    The switch status changes in the same way as the vehicle switch operation. 

    1. OK: Check and replace Power seat position ECU (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 
    2. NG: Go to next step. 
  2. Check power seat control switch. 

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Remove seat.
    2. Disconnect power seat control switch.

    CHECK: 

    Check continuity between terminals when switch operated.

    OK: 

    Driver's seat slide switch: 

    DRIVER'S SEAT SLIDE SWITCH: CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    FRONT 1 - 9 Continuity
    BACK 1 - 6 Continuity

    Driver's seat front vertical switch: 

    DRIVER'S SEAT FRONT VERTICAL SWITCH: CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    UP 1 - 5 Continuity
    DOWN 1 - 10 Continuity

    Driver's seat lifter switch: 

    DRIVER'S SEAT LIFTER SWITCH: CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    UP 1 - 8 Continuity
    DOWN 1 - 7 Continuity

    Driver's seat reclining switch: 

    DRIVER'S SEAT RECLINING SWITCH: CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    FORWARD 1 - 3 Continuity
    REAR 1 - 2 Continuity

    Passenger's slide switch: 

    PASSENGER'S SLIDE SWITCH: CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    FRONT 1 - 9 Continuity
    BACK 1 - 6 Continuity

    Passenger's front vertical switch: 

    PASSENGER'S FRONT VERTICAL SWITCH: CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    UP 1 - 10 Continuity
    DOWN 1 - 5 Continuity

    Passenger's lifter switch: 

    PASSENGER'S LIFTER SWITCH: CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    UP 1 - 7 Continuity
    DOWN 1 - 8 Continuity

    Passenger's reclining switch: 

    PASSENGER'S RECLINING SWITCH: CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    FORWARD 1 - 3 Continuity
    REAR 1 - 2 Continuity
    1. NG: Replace power seat control switch. 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. Check harness and connectors between power seat position ECU and power seat control switch (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 
    1. NG: Repair and replace harness or connector. 
    2. OK: Check and replace power seat position ECU. (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ).
