Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Check O/D direct clutch speed sensor (NCO) installation. 

    CHECK: 

    Check the speed sensor installation.

    OK: 

    1. The installation bolt is tightened properly and there is no clearance between the sensor and transmission case. 

    HINT:

    1. Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)

    NG: Replace the O/D direct clutch speed sensor (See  O/D DIRECT CLUTCH SPEED SENSOR  ). 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  2. Check O/D direct clutch speed sensor (NCO). 

    PREPARATION: 

    Remove the speed sensor (NCO) from transmission.

    CHECK: 

    Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of speed sensor.

    OK: 

    1. Resistance: 620 +/- 60 Ω at 20°C (68°F)

    NG: Replace the O/D direct clutch speed sensor (See  O/D DIRECT CLUTCH SPEED SENSOR  ). 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  3. Check harness and connector between ECM and O/D direct clutch speed sensor (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 

    NG: Repair or replace harness and connector. 

    OK: Replace the ECM (See  ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)  ).
