Rear Power Seat Control System - Diagnostics: Inspection

  1. INSPECT POWER SEAT MOTOR 
    1. Check operation of the reclining motor.
      1. Check if the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the reclining motor connector terminals.

    OK: 

    MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Measurement Condition Specified Condition
    Battery positive (+) --> 1 Battery negative (-) --> 2 Clockwise
    Battery positive (+) --> 2 Battery negative (-) --> 1 Counterclockwise

    If the result is not as specified, replace the reclining motor.

  2. INSPECT POWER SEAT MOTOR 
    1. Check operation of the headrest motor.
      1. Check if the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the headrest motor connector terminals.

    OK: 

    MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Measurement Condition Specified Condition
    Battery positive (+) --> 5 (UP) Battery negative (-) --> 1 (DOWN) Clockwise
    Battery positive (+) --> 1 (UP) Battery negative (-) --> 5 (DOWN) Counterclockwise

    If the result is not as specified, replace the headrest motor. 

  3. INSPECT REAR SEAT MEMORY SWITCH LH 
    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals when the switch is operated.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    1 (SGND) - 7 (SET) SET switch free 10 kΩ or higher
    1 (SGND) - 7 (SET) SET switch pushed Below 1 Ω
    1 (SGND) - 5 (M) M switch free 10 kΩ or higher
    1 (SGND) - 5 (M) M switch pushed Below 1 Ω
    1 (SGND) - 2 (CAN) C switch free 10 kΩ or higher
    1 (SGND) - 2 (CAN) C switch pushed Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

  4. INSPECT REAR SEAT MEMORY SWITCH RH 
    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals when the switch is operated.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    8 (SGND) - 2 (SET) SET switch free 10 kΩ or higher
    8 (SGND) - 2 (SET) SET switch pushed Below 1 Ω
    8 (SGND) - 4 (M) M switch free 10 kΩ or higher
    8 (SGND) - 4 (M) M switch pushed Below 1 Ω
    8 (SGND) - 7 (CAN) C switch free 10 kΩ or higher
    8 (SGND) - 7 (CAN) C switch pushed Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

  5. INSPECT VIBRATOR LH 
    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    1*1 (C2)-2(C1) 1.8 +/- 0.3 Ω
    1 (C2) and 2*2 (C1) - Body ground 5 MΩ or more at DC 500 VM
    3 (C3) - Body ground

    HINT:

    *1: Connect terminal 1 to the tester's positive (+) terminal.

    *2: Terminals 1 and 2 should be connected together.

    If the result is not as specified, replace the vibrator.

  6. INSPECT VIBRATOR RH 
    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    1*1 (C2)-2(C1) 1.8 +/- 0.3 Ω
    1 (C2) or 2*2 (C1) - Body ground 5 MΩ or more at DC 500 VM
    3 (C3) - Body ground

    HINT:

    *1: Connect terminal 1 to the tester's positive (+) terminal.

    *2: Terminals 1 and 2 should be connected together.

    If the result is not as specified, replace the vibrator.
