Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK FUSE (AM1, ECU-IG NO. 1, ECU-B, ECU-ACC) 
    1. Remove the AM1, ECU-IG No. 1 and ECU-ACC fuses from the instrument panel J/B.
    2. Remove the ECU-B fuse from the FL block.
    3. Check the resistance.

      Standard: Below 1 Ω. 

    1. NG: REPLACE FUSE 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. CHECK OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSY (POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the R21 and R22 ECU connectors.

    2. Check the voltage between the wire harness side connectors and the body ground.

      Standard: 

      LH 

      R21 ECU CONNECTOR TERMINALS VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R21-7 (CPUB) - Body ground Constant 10 to 14 V
      R21-3 (BDR) - Body ground Constant 10 to 14 V
      R21-8 (SIG) - Body ground Ignition switch OFF --> ON 0 V --> 10 to 14 V

      RH 

      R22 ECU CONNECTOR TERMINALS VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R22-7 (CPUB) - Body ground Constant 10 to 14 V
      R22-3 (BDR) - Body ground Constant 10 to 14 V
      R22-8 (SIG) - Body around Ignition switch OFF --> ON 0 V --> 10 to 14 V
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSY (GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the R21 and R22 ECU connectors.

    2. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors and the body ground.

      Standard: 

      LH 

      R21 ECU CONNECTOR TERMINALS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      R21-1 (GND) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

      RH 

      R22 ECU CONNECTOR TERMINALS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      R22-1 (GND) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSY (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  )
