Key Confinement Prevention Function Does Not Work Properly (Courtesy Lamp Switch Circuit): Inspection

  1. INSPECT FRONT DOOR W/MOTOR LOCK ASSY LH 
    1. Apply battery voltage to the door lock and check operation of the door lock motor.

      OK: 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) - Terminal 5
      Battery negative (-) - Terminal 6
      Lock
      Battery positive (+) - Terminal 6
      Battery negative (-) - Terminal 5
      Unlock
    2. Measure the resistance of the position switch.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Lock 10 k ohms or higher
      1 - 2 Unlock Below 1 ohms

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

    3. Measure the resistance of the door lock and unlock switch.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      2 - 4 Lock Below 1 ohms
      2 - 3
      2 - 4
      OFF 10 k ohms or higher
      2 - 3 Unlock Below 1 ohms

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

  2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR W/MOTOR LOCK ASSY RH 
    1. Apply battery voltage to the door lock and check operation of the door lock motor

      OK: 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) - Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) - Terminal 2
      Lock
      Battery positive (+) - Terminal 2
      Battery negative (-) - Terminal 4
      Unlock

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

    2. Measure the resistance of the position switch.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 4 Lock 10 k ohms or higher
      3 - 4 Unlock Below 1 ohms

      If the result is not as specified, replace the door lock assy.

  3. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Door Lock SW Condition Specified Condition
      8 - 10 Lock Below 1 ohms
      8 - 10, 10 - 18 Free 10 ohms or higher
      10 - 18 Unlock Below 1 ohms

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

  4. INSPECT DOOR CONTROL SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Door Lock SW Condition Specified Condition
      2 - 3 Lock Below 1 ohms
      1 - 2, 2 - 3 Free 10 ohms or higher
      1 - 2 Unlock Below 1 ohms

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.
