OK: Display changes according to brake pedal operation described in Fig 1 above.
- NG: Go to step 2
- OK: REPLACE ECM (See REPLACEMENT )
- Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the cruise control main switch.
- INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH ASSY
- Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard:
CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH ASSY RESISTANCETester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 4 (ECC) - 5 (CCS) RES/ACC 235 to 245 ohms 4 (ECC) - 5 (CCS) SET/COAST 617 to 643 ohms 4 (ECC) - 5 (CCS) CANCEL 1,509 to 1,572 ohms 4 (ECC) - 5 (CCS) Main switch OFF 10 k ohms or higher 4 (ECC) - 5 (CCS) Main switch ON Below 1 ohms
- NG: REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
- OK: Go to next step.
- Measure the resistance of the switch.
- INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY
- Measure the resistance of the spiral cable.
Standard:
SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY RESISTANCETester Connection Specified Condition C10-5 (CCS) - A-5 (CCS) Below 1 ohms C10-4 (ECC) - A-4 (ECC) Below 1 ohms
- NG: REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
- OK: Go to next step.
- Measure the resistance of the spiral cable.
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY - ECM AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the E5 ECM connector.
- Disconnect the C10 spiral cable connector.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard:
SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY - ECM AND BODY GROUND RESISTANCETester Connection Specified Condition E5-31 (CCS) - C10-5 (CCS) Below 1 ohms E5-31 (CCS) - Body ground 10 k ohms or higher C10-5 (CCS) - Body ground 10 k ohms or higher C10-4 (ECC) - Body ground Below 1 ohms
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
