Inspection Procedure
- CHECK FOR ANY FOREIGN OBJECT
- Check that no foreign object is in the steering pad switch cover.
OK: No foreign object.
- NG: REMOVE FOREIGN OBJECT
- OK: Go to next step.
- Check that no foreign object is in the steering pad switch cover.
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY CENTER - SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the M6 panel connector.
- Disconnect the C10 cable connector.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard:
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY CENTER - SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY AND BODY GROUNDTester Connection Specified Condition M6-2 (TLSW) - C10-1 (TLSW) Below 1 ohms M6-3 (TLSW-) - C10-4 (ECC) Below 1 ohms M6-3 (TLSW-) - Body ground Below 1 ohms
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- OK: Go to next step.
- CHECK STEERING PAD SWITCH MODULATOR (TEL 2 VOLTAGE)
- Measure the voltage of the switch.
Standard:
STEERING PAD SWITCH MODULATOR (TEL 2 VOLTAGE)Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 4 (TLSW) - 6 (ECC) Steering pad TEL switch not pushed Below 5 V 4 (TLSW) - 6 (ECC) Steering pad TEL switch pushed Below 1 V
- NG: REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH MODULATOR (See OVERHAUL )
- OK: Go to next step.
- Measure the voltage of the switch.
- CHECK CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH ASSY
- Disconnect the switch connectors.
- Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard:
CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH ASSYTester Connection Specified Condition A-1 (TLSW) - B-6 (TLSW) Below 1 ohms A-4 (ECC) - B-4 (ECC2) Below 1 ohms
- NG: REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
- OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY
- Disconnect the cable connectors.
- Measure the resistance of the cable.
Standard:
SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSYTester Connection Specified Condition C10-4 (ECC) - A-4 (ECC) Below 1 ohms C10-1 (TLSW) - A-1 (TLSW) Below 1 ohms
- NG: REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY (See OVERHAUL )
- OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
