Front Power Seat Control System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH (w/o SEAT MEMORY SWITCH) 
    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals when each switch is operated.

      Standard: 

      Slide switch 

      TABLE TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED (SLIDE SWITCH)

      Tester Connection Switch Operation Specified Condition
      1 (B) - 9 (SLDF) FRONT Below 1 Ω
      4 (E) - 6 (SLDR) FRONT Below 1 Ω
      4 (E) - 6 (SLDR) OFF Below 1 Ω
      4 (E) - 9 (SLDF) OFF Below 1 Ω
      1 (B) - 6 (SLDR) REAR Below 1 Ω
      4 (E) - 9 (SLDF) REAR Below 1 Ω

      Front vertical switch 

      TABLE TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (FRONT VERTICAL SWITCH)

      Tester Connection Switch Operation Specified Condition
      1 (B) - 10 (FUP) UP Below 1 Ω
      4 (E) - 5 (FDWN) UP Below 1 Ω
      4 (E) - 5 (FDWN) OFF Below 1 Ω
      4 (E) - 10 (FUP) OFF Below 1 Ω
      1 (B) - 5 (FDWN) DOWN Below 1 Ω
      4 (E) - 10 (FUP) DOWN Below 1 Ω

      Lifter vertical switch 

      TABLE TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (LIFTER VERTICAL SWITCH)

      Tester Connection Switch Operation Specified Condition
      1 (B) - 7 (LUP) UP Below 1 Ω
      4 (E) - 8 (LDWN) UP Below 1 Ω
      4 (E) - 7 (LUP) OFF Below 1 Ω
      4 (E) - 8 (LDWN) OFF Below 1 Ω
      1 (B) - 8 (LDWN) DOWN Below 1 Ω
      4 (E) - 7 (LUP) DOWN Below 1 Ω

      Reclining switch 

      TABLE TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (RECLINING SWITCH)

      Tester Connection Switch Operation Specified Condition
      1 (B) - 3 (RCLF) FRONT Below 1 Ω
      2 (RCLR) - 4 (E) FRONT Below 1 Ω
      2 (RCLR) - 4 (E) OFF Below 1 Ω
      3 (RCLF) - 4 (E) OFF Below 1 Ω
      1 (B) - 2 (RCLR) REAR Below 1 Ω
      3 (RCLF) - 4 (E) REAR Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

  2. INSPECT FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH (w/o SEAT MEMORY SWITCH) 
    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals when each switch is operated.

    Standard: 

    Slide switch

    4 (E) - 6 (SLDR) FRONT Below 1 Ω

    4 (E) - 9 (SLDF) OFF Below 1 Ω
    1 (B) - 6 (SLDR) REAR Below 1 Ω
    4 (E) - 9 (SLDF) REAR Below 1 Ω

    Front vertical switch 

    TABLE TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (FRONT VERTICAL SWITCH)

    1 (B) - 5 (FUP) UP Below 1 Ω
    4 (E) - 10 (FDWN) UP Below 1 Ω
    4 (E) - 5 (FUP) OFF Below 1 Ω
    4 (E) - 10 (FDWN) OFF Below 1 Ω
    1 (B) - 10 (FDWN) DOWN Below 1 Ω
    4 (E) - 5 (FUP) DOWN Below 1 Ω

    Lifter switch 

    TABLE TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (LIFTER SWITCH)

    Tester Connection Switch Operation Specified Condition
    1 (B) - 8 (RUP) UP Below 1 Ω
    4 (E) - 7 (RDWN) UP Below 1 Ω
    4 (E) - 7 (RDWN) OFF Below 1 Ω
    4 (E) - 8 (RUP) OFF Below 1 Ω
    1 (B) -7 (RDWN) DOWN Below 1 Ω
    4 (E) - 8 (RUP) DOWN Below 1 Ω

    Reclining switch 

    TABLE TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (RECLINING SWITCH)

    Tester Connection Switch Operation Specified Condition
    1 (B) - 3 (RCLF) FRONT Below 1 Ω
    2 (RCLR) - 4 (E) FRONT Below 1 Ω
    2 (RCLR) - 4 (E) OFF Below 1 Ω
    3 (RCLF) - 4 (E) OFF Below 1 Ω
    1 (B) - 2 (RCLR) REAR Below 1 Ω
    3 (RCLF) - 4 (E) REAR Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

  3. INSPECT SEAT MEMORY SWITCH 
    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals when each switch is operated.

    Standard: 

    TABLE TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Switch Operation Specified Condition
    1 (E) - 4 (1) SW1 switch pushed Below 1 Ω
    1 (E) - 3 (2) SW2 switch pushed Below 1 Ω
    1 (E) - 2 (MMRY) SET switch pushed Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

  4. INSPECT POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSY (DRIVER SEAT POSITION) 
    1. Measure the resistance between the terminals when each switch is operated.

    Standard: 

    TABLE TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Switch Operation Specified Condition
    1 (R) - 2 (E2) HOLD switch pushed Below 1 Ω
    3 (B) - 4 (H) HOLD switch pushed Below 1 Ω
    1 (R) - 2 (E2) Off Below 1 Ω
    4 (H) - 5 (E1) Off Below 1 Ω
    1 (R) - 3 (B) RELEASE switch pushed Below 1 Ω
    4 (H) - 5 (E1) RELEASE switch pushed Below 1 Ω

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.

  5. INSPECT FRONT LH SEAT ASSY 
    1. Check slide motor operation.
      1. Check if the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

      OK

      If the result is not as specified, replace the front LH seat assy.

    2. Check front vertical motor operation.
      1. Check if the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the vertical motor connector terminals.

      OK:

      If the result is not as specified, replace the front LH seat assy.

    3. Check lifter motor operation.
      1. Check if the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the rear vertical motor connector terminals.

      OK:

      If the result is not as specified, replace the front LH seat assy.

    4. Check reclining motor operation.
    1. Check if the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the reclining motor connector terminals.

    OK:

    If the result is not as specified, replace the front LH seat assy.

  6. INSPECT FRONT RH SEAT ASSY 
    1. Check slide motor operation.
      1. Check if the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

      OK:

      If the result is not as specified, replace the front RH seat assy.

    2. Check front vertical motor operation.
      1. Check if the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the vertical motor connector terminals.

      OK:

      If the result is not as specified, replace the front RH seat assy.

    3. Check lifter motor operation.
      1. Check if the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the rear vertical motor connector terminals.

      OK:

      If the result is not as specified, replace the front RH seat assy.

    4. Check reclining motor operation.
    1. Check if the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the reclining motor connector terminals.

    OK:

    If the result is not as specified, replace the front RH seat assy.

  7. INSPECT LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSY LH (DRIVER SEAT POSITION) 
    1. Check lumbar support motor operation.
      1. Check if the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the lumbar support motor connector terminals.

    OK:

    If the result is not as specified, replace the lumber support adjuster assy LH.
