Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Lexus GX 470. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. RESET MAYDAY ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Exit diagnosis mode and wait for 10 seconds.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for 10 minutes.
    3. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    5. Keep the ignition switch ON for 5 minutes or more.
    6. Check for DTC again.

      Result 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    Result Proceed to
    Current DTC 2-5 or 2-6 exists A
    Current DTC 2-5 or 2-6 does not exist B
    NOTE: If replacement of the ECU is necessary, replace the mayday battery (backup battery) together with the ECU. After the replacement, register the ECU (See REGISTRATION  ).

    B: CLEAR HISTORIC DTC 

    A: REPLACE MAYDAY ECU ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL   )
