Shift Paddle Switch: Installation

  1. INSTALL SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH 
    1. Install the 2 shift paddle switches and 2 brackets with the 4 screws.

      Torque: 1.7 N*m (17 kgf*cm, 15 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Make sure that the brackets are securely installed.

    2. Connect the 2 switch wire connectors to the shift paddle switches.

    3. Install the connector to the steering wheel assembly.
    4. Install the clamp to the steering wheel assembly.
  2. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  )

  4. INSTALL STEERING PAD (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  6. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal

    (See INITIALIZATION ).

  9. INSPECT STEERING PAD (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
  10. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
