Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and press the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the items below in the DATA LIST, and read the displays on the hand-held tester.

    DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU: 

    DATA LIST REFERENCE

    Item Measurement Item/Display (Range) Normal condition
    MIRR FOLD SW Mirror retract switch signal ON or OFF ON: Switch is ON OFF: Switch is OFF
    MIRR RETRN SW Mirror return switch signal ON or OFF ON: Switch is ON OFF: Switch is OFF

    OK: 

    On the tester screen, each item should change between ON and OFF according to the above chart. 

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  

  2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH) 
    1. Measure the resistance of the mirror retract switch.

    Standard 

    MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    7 - 4 RETURN Below 1 Ω
    2 - 4 RETRACT Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (OUTER MIRROR SWITCH - DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the O4 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the D6 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard 

    RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    O4-6 - D6-19 (MIND) Below 1 Ω
    04-2 - D6-8 (RET) Below 1 Ω
    O4-7 - D6-9 (RTR) Below 1 Ω
    O4-4 - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
