July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Inspection Procedure

  1. READ DATA LIST (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH) 
    1. Check DATA LIST for proper functioning of the mirror retract switch.

      Driver side J/B ECU:

      OK: On tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to  Fig 1  above. 

    1. NG: Go to step   2 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   ) 
  2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH) 
    1. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

      OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH)

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      4 - 5 ON (Retract) 10 k ohms or higher
      4 - 5 OFF (Return) Below 1 ohms

    1. NG: REPLACE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH) - DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the M4 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the D5 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH) - DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU AND BODY GROUND

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      M4-4 - D5-8 (RET) Below 1 ohms
      M4-5 - Body ground Below 1 ohms

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK (DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU)
