Inspection Procedure
- CHECK FOR DTCS
- Delete the DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
- Check for DTC B2287 (LIN communication master malfunction) and B2785 (Communication malfunction between ECUs connected by LIN).
Result

If DTC B2785 is output, perform troubleshooting for DTC B2785 first (See DTC B2785 COMMUNICATION MALFUNCTION BETWEEN ECUS CONNECTED BY LIN ).

C: CHECK INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
A: Go to Next Step
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAIN BODY ECU - CERTIFICATION ECU)
- Disconnect the E13 and DR ECU connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition DR-9 (LIN1) - E13-10 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω DR-9 (LIN1) or E13-10 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK MAIN BODY ECU OPERATION
- After replacing the main body ECU with a normally functioning ECU, check that the engine starts.
OK: Engine can start normally.
NG: REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
OK: REPLACE END (MAIN BODY ECU DEFECTIVE)
- After replacing the main body ECU with a normally functioning ECU, check that the engine starts.
