Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When replacing the ABS and TRACTION actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (see CALIBRATION ).

HINT:

If C1249/49 is output, repair it before repairing C1267/67 based on the flow below.

  1. INSPECT BRAKE PEDAL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    NOTE:
    • Do not remove the brake pedal load sensing switch from the brake pedal sub-assembly.
    • When there is a malfunction in the brake pedal load sensing switch, replace the brake pedal sub-assembly.
    1. Disconnect the brake pedal load sensing switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Resistance

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A46-2 (FSW+) - A46-1 (GND) Brake pedal depressed Approx. 1 kΩ
      A46-2 (FSW+) - A46-1 (GND) Brake pedal released Approx. 213 Ω

    NG: REPLACE BRAKE PEDAL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    OK: Go to next step

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU TO BRAKE PEDAL LOAD SENSING SWITCH)
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector and the brake pedal load sensing switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Resistance

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A44-7 (FSW+) - A46-2 (FSW+) Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Resistance

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A6-7 (FSW+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (FSW+ CIRCUIT)

    OK: Go to next step

  3. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (BRAKE PEDAL LOAD SENSING SWITCH)
    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Select the DATA LIST mode on the intelligent tester.

      DATA LIST: ABS/VSC

      NORMAL CONDITION CHART

Item (Display) Measurement Item / Range (Display) Normal Condition
BRK PEDAL SW Brake pedal load sensing switch / ON or OFF ON: Depressed brake pedal
      OFF: Released brake pedal
    4. Read the value of the brake pedal load sensing switch displayed on the intelligent tester when depressing and releasing the brake pedal.

    OK

    DISPLAY CONDITION REFERENCE CHART

    Condition Display
    Brake pedal depressed ON
    Brake pedal released OFF

    HINT:

It is suspected that the DTCs were output due to a bad connection of the connector terminal.

NG: REPLACE ABS AND TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

    OK: END
