VVT Sensor: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Bank 1) 
    1. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the No. 5 ignition coil connector.
    3. Disconnect the No. 5 injector connector.
    4. Remove the bolt, and pry out the VVT sensor.
  4. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Bank 2) 
    1. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.

    2. Disconnect the No. 4 ignition coil connector.
    3. Disconnect the No. 4 injector connector.
    4. Remove the bolt, and pry out the VVT sensor.
