Park / Neutral Position Switch: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

    (See INSTALLATION )

  3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER AIR GUIDE BRACKET (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE PROPELLER W/CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    (See REMOVAL )

  5. DISCONNECT FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
  6. SUPPORT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  7. SEPARATE ENGINE REAR MOUNTING MEMBER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  8. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.

    2. Remove the nut and transmission control shaft lever RH.

    3. Using a screwdriver, pry out the lock washer.

    4. Remove the lock nut and lock washer.

    5. Remove the bolt and park/neutral position switch.
