Data List / Active Test

  1. READ DATA LIST 

    HINT:

    Using the intelligent tester's DATA LIST allows switch, sensor, actuator and other item values to be read without removing any parts. Reading the DATA LIST early in troubleshooting is one way to save time.

    1. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3
    2. Turn the power switch ON (IG).
    3. Read the DATA LIST.

      GLASS POS-(1/4) Margin for jam protection triggering force of window glass within range of fully closed to 1/4 open position / OK or CAUTION OK: Margin is sufficient during manual UP operation
      CAUTION: May be displayed even when no resistance is applied in either position. In this case there is a foreign object stuck in that position.
      GLASS POS-(1/4-1/2) Margin for jam protection triggering force of window glass within range of 1/4 to 1/2 open position / OK or CAUTION OK: Margin is sufficient during manual UP operation
      CAUTION: May be displayed even when no resistance is applied in either position. In this case there is a foreign object stuck in that position.
      GLASS POS-(1/2-3/4) Margin for jam protection triggering force of window glass within range of 1/2 to 3/4 open position / OK or CAUTION OK: Margin is sufficient during manual UP operation
      CAUTION: May be displayed even when no resistance is applied in either position. In this case there is a foreign object stuck in that position.
      GLASS POS-(OPEN) Margin for jam protection triggering force of window glass within range of 3/4 to fully open position / OK or CAUTION OK: Margin is sufficient during manual UP operation
      CAUTION: May be displayed even when no resistance is applied in either position. In this case there is a foreign object stuck in that position.

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST 
    NOTE: Be careful to avoid injuries as this test causes vehicle parts to move.

    HINT:

    Performing the intelligent tester's ACTIVE TEST allows relay, VSV, actuator, and other items to be operated without removing any parts. Performing the ACTIVE TEST early in troubleshooting is one way to save time. The DATA LIST can be displayed during the ACTIVE TEST.

    1. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3
    2. Turn the power switch ON (IG).
    3. Perform the ACTIVE TEST by following the directions on the tester screen.
