Charging Systems: Charging: Battery: Removal

  1. PERFORM SERVICE PLUG GRIP  (See REMOVAL )
  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE TOOL BOX  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE BATTERY 
    1. Disconnect the cable from negative (-) battery terminal.
      CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

    2. Disconnect the cable from positive (+) battery terminal.
    3. Disconnect the thermistor sensor connector.
    4. Disconnect the battery room ventilation hose.
    5. Disconnect the wire harness of the fuse holder's clamp from the battery clamp.
    6. Remove the bolt, nut and battery clamp.
    7. Remove the battery.
  6. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and tray.
  7. REMOVE NO. 2 BATTERY (for Active Stabilizer System) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the cable from positive (+) battery terminal.
    3. Remove the battery insulator.
    4. Disconnect the battery room ventilation hose.
    5. Remove the bolt, nut and battery clamp.
    6. Remove the battery.

  8. REMOVE ACTIVE STABILIZER BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR ASSEMBLY (for Active Stabilizer System) 
    1. Disconnect the sensor connector.
    2. Remove the bolt from the body panel.
    3. Remove the nut and sensor.

  9. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY (for Active Stabilizer System) 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and tray.
