Inspection Procedure
- INSPECT IG2 RELAY
- Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room No. 1 relay block.
- Measure the resistance of the relay.
Standard resistance
STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Specified Condition 3 - 5 10 kΩ or higher 3 - 5 Below 1 Ω
(when battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2)
NG: REPLACE IG2 RELAY
OK: GO TO Next Step
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ENGINE ROOM NO. 1 RELAY BLOCK - POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU)
- Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room No. 1 relay block.
- Disconnect the K73 ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance
STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Specified Condition Engine room No. 1 relay block IG2 relay terminal 2 - K73-35 (IG2D) Below 1 Ω Engine room No. 1 relay block IG2 relay terminal 1 - Body ground Below 1 Ω K73-35 (IG2D) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: GO TO Next Step
- CHECK POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU (IG2D VOLTAGE)
- Measure the output voltage of the power source control ECU.
Standard voltage
STANDARD VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition 35 (IG2D) - Body ground Power switch ON (IG) 10 to 14 V
NG: REPLACE POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU
OK: END
- Measure the output voltage of the power source control ECU.
