Fuel Pump: Inspection
- INSPECT FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY
- Inspect the resistance of the fuel pump.
- Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2.
Standard resistance: 0.2 to 3.0 Ω at 20°C (68°F)
If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump
- Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2.
- Inspect the operation of the fuel pump.
- Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 1 of the connector, and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2. Check that the fuel pump operates.NOTE:
- These tests must be performed within 10 seconds to prevent the coil from burning out.
- Keep the fuel pump as far away from the battery as possible.
- Always turn the voltage on and off on the battery side, not the fuel pump side.
- Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 1 of the connector, and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2. Check that the fuel pump operates.
