Fuel Relief Valve: Installation

  1. INSTALL FUEL RELIEF VALVE 
    1. Install a new O-ring, new backup rings (No. 1 and No. 2) and new E-ring to the fuel relief valve as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:
      • Check that there is no foreign matter or damaged areas in the injector's O-ring groove.
      • Check that the No. 1 and No. 2 backup rings are installed in the correct direction.
      • Make sure that the backup rings and O-ring are installed in the correct order.
      • Check that the alignment openings of the backup rings are not overlapped or stretched as shown in the illustration.
      • After installing the O-ring, check that it is not contaminated with foreign matter and is not damaged.
      • Check that the No. 3 fuel pipe installation end is not contaminated with foreign matter and is not damaged.
    2. Fix the delivery pipe between aluminum plates in a vise.
      NOTE: Do not overtighten the vise.
    3. Apply gasoline to the O-ring. Using a 5 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the fuel relief valve to the No. 2 fuel delivery pipe with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf)

  8. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  9. INSTALL WATER HOSE JOINT (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  10. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  11. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  12. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY  (See INSPECTION )
  13. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. CONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  16. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  17. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  18. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH  (See INSTALLATION )

  22. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  23. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  (See REPLACEMENT )
  24. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE  (See COOLING SYSTEM )
  25. CHECK FOR FUEL LEAK (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION   ) 
  26. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  27. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  28. INSTALL SERVICE PLUG GRIP  (See INSTALLATION )
  29. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  30. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  31. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See INSTALLATION )
  32. CHECK FUNCTION OF THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
  33. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION (2006/02-2006/07) ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
