Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH (FOR GROUND)

    1. Remove the power window switch (the connector is connected).
    2. Check the continuity between terminal 7 and the body ground.

      Standard resistance: 

      Below 1 Ω 

      OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH

    1. Check the voltage between terminals 12 and 7.

      Standard voltage: 

      10 to 14 V (Constant) 

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH - POWER SOURCE) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH

    1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    2. Check the voltage between terminals 11 and 7 when operating the window lock switch on the master switch.

      Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION TABLE

    Terminal No. Window Lock Switch Specified Condition
    11 - 7 ON 5 V
    OFF Less than 1 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH-WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH) 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH - POWER WINDOW MOTOR)

    1. Disconnect the P7 power window switch connector.
    2. Remove the front door trim RH.
    3. Disconnect the P11 power window motor connector.
    4. Check the continuity between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Terminal No. Specified Condition
    P7-1 - P11-1 Below 1 Ω
    P7-6 - P11-2 Below 1 Ω
    P7-1 - Body ground No continuity
    P7-6 - Body ground No continuity

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR (PASSENGER SIDE) 
    1. Remove the motor.
    2. Apply battery voltage to the connector between terminals 1 and 2.
    3. Check that the motor rotates smoothly.
      NOTE: Do not apply battery voltage to the terminals except 1 and 2.

      Standard 

      TERMINALS AND MOTOR GEAR ROTATION REFERENCE

      Terminal No. Motor Gear Rotation
      Battery positive voltage → 1
      Battery negative voltage → 2
      Clockwise
      Battery positive voltage → 2
      Battery negative voltage → 1
      Counterclockwise

    NG: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR (PASSENGER SIDE) 

    OK: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH (PASSENGER SIDE)
