On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY

    1. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    3. Start and warm up the engine.
    4. Connect the intelligent tester and select VVT from the ACTIVE TEST menu.
    5. Check the engine speed when the OCV is operated by the intelligent tester.

      Idle speed: 

      650 to 750 rpm 

      OK 

      CONDUCTION REFERENCE

      Condition Specified Condition
      VVT system is OFF (OCV is OFF) Normal engine speed
      VVT system is ON (OCV is ON) Rough idle or engine stalled
