On-Vehicle Inspection
- INSPECT IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY AND SPARK TEST
- Confirm DTCs (See
DTC CHECK / CLEAR
).NOTE: If any DTCs are indicated, carry out troubleshooting in accordance with the procedures for those DTCs.
- Check that a spark occurs.
- Remove the V-bank cover (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
- Remove the ignition coils (See REMOVAL ).
- Using a 16 mm (0.63 in.) plug wrench, remove the spark plugs.
- Install the spark plugs to each ignition coil, and connect the ignition coil connectors.
- Disconnect the 8 injector connectors.
- Ground the spark plugs.
- Check if a spark occurs while the engine is being cranked.
NOTE:- Be sure to ground the spark plugs when checking.
- Replace the ignition coil if it is subjected to an impact.
- Do not crank the engine for more than 2 seconds.
- Using a 16 mm (0.63 in.) plug wrench, install the spark plugs.
Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)
- Install the ignition coils.
Torque: 7.5 N*m (80 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf)
- Install the V-bank cover.
Torque: 7.5 N*m (80 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf)
- Confirm DTCs (See
DTC CHECK / CLEAR
