Problem Symptoms Table
HINT:
- Use the table below to help determine the cause of the problem symptom. The potential causes of the symptoms are listed in order of probability in the "Suspected Area" column of the table. Check each symptom by checking the suspected areas in the order they are listed. Replace parts as necessary.
- Inspect the fuses and relays related to the system before inspecting the suspected areas below.
SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START
PROBLEM SYMPTOMS CHARTSymptom Suspected area Power does not turn on (neither ACC nor IG is possible). 1. Place the electrical key on the drivers seat, move the shift lever to the P position, and depress the brake pedal. Check that the engine switch indicator comes on in green. (If the indicator does not come on or comes on in amber, see "ID code matching inside the cabin cannot be performed" in this table.) (A/T) 2. Place the electrical key on the drivers seat and depress the clutch pedal. Check that the engine switch indicator comes on in green. (If the indicator does not come on or comes on in amber, see "ID code matching inside the cabin cannot be performed" in this table.) (M/T) 3. AM1 and AM2 circuit (B2271) 4. Check the IG1 relay (DTC B2272). 5. Check the IG2 relay (DTC B2273). 6. Check the ACC relay (DTC B2274). 7. Check the input terminal of the engine switch (DTC B2278). 8. Replace the power source control ECU. Power is not turned on (only ACC is not turned on). 1. AM1 and AM2 circuit (B2271) 2. ACCD circuit (B2274) 3. Check steering lock position (DTC B2285, B2288) 4. Check LIN communication line (DTC B2287) 5. Replace power source control ECU. Power is not turned on (only IG is not turned on). 1. AM1 AM2 circuit (B2271) 2. IG1D circuit (B2272) 3. IG2D circuit (B2273) 4. Check steering lock position (DTC B2285, B2288) 5. Check LIN communication line (DTC B2287) 6. Replace power source control ECU. Power source mode does not change. - Engine does not start. (Cranking does not occur.) 1. Check for DTCs in the smart access system with pushbutton start. 2. Check that the engine switch is turned on (IG). 3. Check cranking operation. (If cranking operation is possible, see "Engine does not start due to the engine immobiliser" in this table.) 4. Check "SHIFT P SIG" in the DATA LIST of the power source control ECU and confirm that the shift signal is normal (A/T). 5. Check clutch start switch (M/T) 6. Check whether the steering wheel is locked or unlocked. (If it is locked, see "Steering wheel cannot be unlocked" in the steering lock function table.) 7. Check the output signal from the STSW of the power source control ECU (DTC B2275). 8. Terminals of ACCR and CTSW are turned starting the engine (DTC B2276). 9. Stop light switch circuit (B2284) 10. Clutch start switch circuit (M/T) 11. Starter relay circuit Engine does not start. (First combustion does not occur.) 1. Check for DTCs in the smart access system with pushbutton start. 2. SFI system Engine switch indicator light does not come on. Engine switch indicator light circuit
