DTC Check / Clear
- CHECK DTC
- Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
- Connect the intelligent tester to the Controller Area Network Vehicle Interface Module (CAN VIM). Then connect the CAN VIM to the Data Link Connector 3 (DLC3).
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Read the DTCs by following the prompts on the tester screen.
HINT:
Refer to the intelligent tester operator's manual for further details.
- Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
- CLEAR DTC
- Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Operate the intelligent tester to erase the codes.

FAIL-SAFE CHART
- Constant speed control mode and vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode:
If the following conditions are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system clears the stored vehicle speed in the ECM and cancels the dynamic radar cruise control operation.
FAIL-SAFE CHARTVehicle Condition Auto Cancel Condition Fail-safe Deactivation Condition - CRUISE main indicator light blinks
- Master warning light comes on
- "Check Cruise System" is displayed
- "Pong" warning sound is heard
- Open or short in stop light switch circuit
- Problem with vehicle speed signal
- Problem with throttle position sensor and motor
Turn cruise control main switch ON again - Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode:
If the following conditions are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system clears the stored vehicle speed in the ECM and cancels the dynamic radar cruise control operation.

If the following conditions are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system maintains the stored vehicle speed in the ECM and cancels the dynamic radar cruise control operation.

There is dirt on millimeter wave radar sensor Recover from condition on left (RESUME operation is possible after recovery) - Master warning light comes on
- "Cruise not Available" is displayed
- "Pong" warning sound is heard
- Wiper switch is in HI position
- ECT-SNOW switch is on
- Millimeter wave radar sensor is least sensitive because of bad weather such as rain, fog, snow, and sandstorms
- Recover from condition on left (RESUME operation is possible after recovery)
- Turn cruise control main switch ON again
- Constant speed control mode and vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode:
If the following conditions are detected while the dynamic radar cruise control system is in operation, the system clears the stored vehicle speed and cancels the dynamic radar cruise control operation.
FAIL-SAFE DEACTIVATION CONDITIONVehicle Condition Auto Cancel Condition Fail-safe Deactivation Condition CRUISE main indicator light goes off - Vehicle speed is lower than low speed limit (approx. 40 km/h (25 mph)) while running with cruise control on
- Vehicle speed is lower than stored vehicle speed by 16 km/h (9.9 mph) or more while running with cruise control on
- Push the cruise control main switch to RESUME/ACCEL
