Steering Wheel Audio Control Switch Check

  1. A SWITCH SELF-DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION CHECK 
    1. Start A switch self-diagnosis function. Refer to "A SWITCH SELF-DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION  ".
    2. Operate steering wheel audio control switch.

    Does steering wheel audio control switch operate normally?

    1. OK: INSPECTION END.
    2. NG: GO TO 2.
  2. CHECK HARNESS 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF. 
    2. Disconnect A switch connector and spiral cable connector. 
    3. Check continuity between spiral cable harness connector terminals and A switch harness connector terminals. 
      CHECK CONTINUITY

      Spiral cable AV switch
      Connector Terminal Connector Terminal (Wire color)
      M30 32 (G) M98 13 (G) Yes
      31 (B/Y) 14 (B/Y)

    4. Check continuity between A switch and ground.
    CHECK CONTINUITY

    Terminals Continuity
    AV switch (+) (-)
    Connector Terminal (Wire color)
    M98 12 (R) Ground No
    13 (G)
    14 (B/Y)

    OK or NG

    1. OK: GO TO 2.
    2. NG: Repair harness.
  3. SPIRAL CABLE CHECK 

    Check spiral cable harness.

    OK or NG

    1. OK: GO TO 4.
    2. NG: Replace spiral cable. Refer to "SPIRAL CABLE " .
  4. Check Steering Wheel Audio Control Switch Resistance 

    Check resistance steering wheel audio control switch terminals.

    CHECK RESISTANCE

    16 17 Seek (down) Depress (station) down switch. 165
    Power Depress power switch. 0
    Volume (down) Depress volume down switch. 652
    20 17 Seek (up) Depress (station) up switch. 165
    Mode Depress mode switch. 0
    Volume (up) Depress volume up switch. 652

    OK or NG

    1. OK: Replace A switch. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION FOR A SWITCH ".
    2. NG: Replace steering wheel audio control switch. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF STEERING WHEEL AUDIO CONTROL SWITCHES ".
