Inspection Procedure

CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
R32-19 (MUT4) - Body ground	Turn engine switch on (ACC), disc player is playing → Changing modes	Above 3.5 V → Below 1 V

NG: Go to step 2

OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISC PLAYER - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER)

Disconnect the R16 player connector.
Disconnect the R32 controller connector.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
R16-14(MUTE)-R32-19 (MUT4)	Always	Below 1 Ω
R16-14 (MUTE)-Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP

CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER

Reconnect the R32 controller connector.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

R32-19(MUT4)-Body ground	DVD system is playing	Above 3.5 V

NG: REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER (See REMOVAL )

OK: REPLACE DISC PLAYER (See DISC PLAYER (FOR OTTOMAN) )
