Inner Rear View Mirror: Removal

  1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
    NOTE:
    • After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
  3. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR COVER (w/o Rain Sensor) 
    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the inner rear view mirror cover as shown in the illustration.

  5. REMOVE RAIN SENSOR COVER (w/ Rain Sensor) 
    1. Pull the stopper in the direction shown in the illustration.
    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the rain sensor cover.

  6. REMOVE RAIN SENSOR COVER (w/ Driver Monitor Camera) 
    NOTE: When removing the rain sensor cover, do not apply force to the object recognition camera areas labeled "X".

    1. Pull the stopper in the direction shown in the illustration.
    2. While being careful not to apply force to the camera areas, detach the 2 clips and 2 claws and remove the rain sensor cover.

  7. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Using a T20 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the screw and inner rear view mirror.
