Light Control Rheostat: Inspection
- INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT (w/o Headlight Cleaner System)
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT (W/O HEADLIGHT CLEANER SYSTEM)Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 3 (UP) - 5 (E) UP ON (Pushed) Below 200 Ω 3 (UP) - 5 (E) UP OFF (Not pushed) 1MΩ or higher 7 (DOWN) - 5 (E) DOWN ON (Pushed) Below 200 Ω 7 (DOWN) - 5 (E) DOWN OFF (Not pushed) 1MΩ or higher Courtesy of © TOYOTA, LICENSE AGREEMENT TMS1002
If the result is not as specified, replace the rheostat.
- Inspect the switch illumination.
- Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 8 (ILL+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6 (ILL-), then check that the light comes on.
OK: LED comes on.
If the result is not as specified, replace the rheostat.
- Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 8 (ILL+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6 (ILL-), then check that the light comes on.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

If the result is not as specified, replace the rheostat.
