A Communication Line Check

  1. Check A Switch Circuit 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect display unit connector and A switch connector.
    3. Check continuity between display unit and A switch.
      CHECK CONTINUITY

      Terminals Continuity
      Display unit AV switch
      Connector Terminal (Wire color) Connector Terminal (Wire color)
      M93 11 (V) M98 6(V) Yes
      13 (L/G) 8 (L/G)
      12 7
    4. Check continuity between display unit and ground.
    CHECK CONTINUITY

    Terminals Continuity
    Connector Terminal (Wire color) Terminal
    M93 11 (V) Ground No
    13 (L/G)

    OK or NG

    1. OK: GO TO 2.
    2. NG: Replace harness.

  2. CHECK A COMMUNICATION SIGNAL 
    1. Connect display unit connector and A switch connector.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Check the signal between display unit harness connector M93 terminals 11 (V), 13 (L/G) and ground with CONSULT-II or oscilloscope.
    1. 11 (V), 13 (L/G) - Ground: Refer to "Terminals And Reference Value For Display Unit  ".

    OK or NG

    1. OK: Replace A switch. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION FOR A SWITCH ".
    2. NG: Replace display unit. Refer to "Removal And Installation Of Display Unit  ".
