Model Without Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) System

- Tighten the flange of master cylinder into a vise. Remove brake fluid from reservoir. Bend claws of stopper cap outward and remove stopper cap. Discard stopper cap. With a .16 in. (4 mm) pin punch, drive out spring pin from cylinder body and remove reservoir. See Fig 1
. Remove valve stopper while lightly pushing primary piston into cylinder. Remove piston assemblies.NOTE: If secondary piston assembly is difficult to remove, tap the flange of master cylinder with a soft block of wood.
- Inspect the inner wall of the cylinder for corrosion, wear, and damage. If failure is detected, replace the cylinder body.
- To reassemble, reverse disassembly procedure. DO NOT reuse primary and secondary piston assemblies. DO NOT reuse stopper cap. Replace parts as necessary. Apply clean DOT 3 brake fluid to the cylinder bore and contact surfaces of piston assemblies.
